Artist's Comments

I decided, even though I manipulated the background of this picture, that the correct catigory for this would be under "costumes" (now that I found the catigory) so YAY! Still feel free to comment on the editing if you like, even though this is about the costume.

Here would be me in my Slytherin Robes. I do love them. I made them for the 7th book's releases. Too bad that book SUCKED! I still had fun. People at the release thought my robes were SO good they were asking me if I were an extra from the film! People are dumb...but then, I did look pretty amazing beside people who wearing graduation robes and bathrobes, and I was talking with a British accent all night. I got my picture taken a lot with everyone, and I was even on the news. Yeah, I am THAT spiffy.

The robes themselves are about 4 yards of a black polyester blend (so they don't wrinkle) and the lining is about 4 yards of Prom dress material of a beautiful emerald green. They are not heavy weight wise, but they certainly are warm. I fashioned them after the robes seen in the 3rd film because I liked those best. The hood is pointed, the robes full and long, the sleeves deep. They clasp in the front with a replica of the film's closure, and there is an interior breast pocket for wand safe-keeping, from which I am obviously drawing. The patch on the front is official Slytherin (even though you can't see it in this particular photo), and the tie is official licensed Harry Potter Slytherin from Hot Topic a few years back. My wand is a replica of Hermione Granger's and is of the Lumos Collection, meaning it lights up. Sadly my wand was snapped in half at the book release so it no longer lights up. I feel like Ron with my Spell-o-tape wand. XD
The uniform underneath is incomplete but that is because I do not knit and I refuse to pay 75 bucks for a HP licensed sweater. The skirt is a school uniform, thus it's length is most accurate while having two pleats in the front.

Let me know what you think of the costume, the photo, and the manipulation. <3

Great pose for a Slytherin, it looks like you're about to kick some ass.

People were wearing bathrobes? That sounds like something I would do

do you feel this belongs in that catigory, or in photomanipulation because i edited the background and such?
