...Down where it is wetter, under the sea!

Ariel is by far the most beautiful of the Disney Princesses if you ask me.

If you download this to see its full-size you can see some of the details, but really, this picture is rather straightforward because I am still learning. I wanted to do SO much more with her hair, but I don't have a tablet, just a computer mouse, so long strokes are basically impossible. *sigh* I tried something diferent with this tail, I hope it is acceptable. Lots of *click click click*ing was going on there, and I'm not a patient sphinx.
Anyways, 23 layers, 8 hours broken up over a week, and about 82934651872346587478 undos.

If you have anything to add to this so that I may improve it, by all means, bubble away, I would love to learn. Otherwise, enjoy!

"I know things are bad and getting worse
But after all this I can rest awhile
And then I’ll party, party"
well, that's because she is Disney produced. X]
But thank you. i wish her hair was more...umph...but my mouse is disagreeable.

you're special... :D
well i think it looks awesome. but i kan't draw, or use komputer progarms. but i'm pretty sure even if i kould i'd still think it was kool.

way to have a typo, you failure... "I tried something diferent with his tail" either that or the little mermaid had a few operations... >_< hehehe
she is the ONLY one who I can get right, because I have drawn her SO much, and I have SO much LM stuff around my room, her face is so easy to recall. the other Princesses i have to find Disney Productuion Art for, so i can get them right, their hair right, their eyes and such. I'm trying to draw Belle right now, and there are very few decent Official Disney pictures of her, they tend to use the same picture over and over in their packaging and such. *sigh*

it took me awhile to start piking up on the differences in their faces, like I feel like such a dumb ass I've watched aladin a million times but I just realized like earlier this year that Jasmine actually LOOKS middle eastern.

Why so SERIOUS?!
Great job, but you'd be shocked what you can do with a mouse, thats what I use mostly I use a mouse and a tablet, but I'm just starting to get used to the tablet. Anyways...this is great, but what I would have done with the arm thats up in her hair is either put it down by her side or perhaps lift it up to go along with her hair, because the way it is just doesn't quite look natural, but it's still great!

So don't get me wrong you did fab with this and your painting is great, the best way to learn is to keep on keeping on :)

Disney heads are big, so when you put an arm up near them to do look rather off, but her pose is natural enough since i used myself as ref...then again, i'm a freak. XD I had her arm up originally, as you suggested, but it looked even MORE retarded. i drew that arm 15 times up, and it looked terrible every time. I finally pulled it down, like she is fluffing her hair up and it worked better. i agree the arm isn't the best because it isn't what i first imagined, but i rather like it now. makes me think of that scene in the movie at the beginning of the song "Under The Sea" where the little fish swirl around ariel and make her hair float up. her arms were kind'a bent like this.

i would LOVE a tablet, if i had but the money for a decent one. It's on my list.
I did try with the mouse to give her hair texture using long strokes, but my mouse disagreed. it likes to jump, or i end up sliding it into my keyboard and ruining the stroke, or i run out of cord (because i only have about 5 spare inches to navigate with) so colouring on my computer really is a nightmare and thus takes forever, and thus the 903247590817658976 undos i have to do. -_-

Glad you like it, however, i do too...kinda
