I hope you like this. I was trying to touch back with my old and neglected craft of pen and ink. Stark contrast. Etchy shading. Little details. I hope it is pleasing to the eye, and I hope to do more soon.

I do not know what to do for the background. Suggestions?
I have wind blowing, so he is...outside?
I will update this at some point in the future, so I ask you all to take notice of things you do not like and mention them, so I can go back and fix them. I am not sure what to do with his white little face. i tried shading it in photoshop already and it just came out dirty looking. suggestions?
Oh, and if you do not understand where the title for this comes from I pity your childhood, and will lend you a hand. [link]

CommentsI like the pen. It gives your pictures a soft, almost glowing look to them. Very eye catching.

I miss my old pen. *hugs it* i did NOT miss, however, the one pen i used. i forgot (in all the time i hadn't been inking) why i never used it, and i remembered it when i scanned this. it has a red-base to it, so it comes up brown, and it causes the paper to ripple, which then leaves all these highlights and shadows where i just wanted the black to be. I had to clean up the black spots on the computer some and i found it annoying.

 i am actually pretty proud of this piece because i usually turn out pure crap.  -- "Well, your opinion is as good as hers, I think. That's the real power of art, I think. Elphaba, WICKED 'tiz my old style, something i did but thought was lame and tried to forget. but i just can't seem to get a grasp of anything else, so i am kind'a back to it. all that is still changed slightly is the face. i am still working on expressions and noses and such, so that will probably keep changing until find something that works and looks decent. but back to my old bodies and anatomy. i missed mit.

why do your characters always have clothes I want? Very good job on the shading; for the face, I'd suggest just putting a shadow underneath the nose and the bottom lip, and under his strands of hair, this way it'll go better with the other shading you've got going on. hope that helped.  -- 1000 Words 1000 embraces Will fly to you, Crossing over the time And distance holding you, Suspended on silver wings.
